Money Money Money

Money must be one of the biggest concerns in most peoples life worrrying about bills, saving to go away on holiday, people in debt, so in this aspect Money is not good. However when you have money life is alot easier to get by. When the pay check comes through it gives you the freedom to enjoy yourself.
How can money be seen as good?
As a concept of trading rather than a farmer giving a teacher a pig to teach their children for a year ect.
When you have enough to get by to enjoy yourself.

Where did money originate from?
The use of gold as proto-money has been traced back to the fourth millennium B.C. when the Egyptians used gold bars of a set weight as a medium of exchange. Many items such as sheep and shells ect used to be used as currency as a standard price.

The Beatles made a song based around Money

Lyrics:
The best things in life are free
But you can keep them for the birds and bees
Now give me money
That's what I want
That's what I want, yeah
That's what I want

You're lovin' gives me a thrill
But you're lovin' don't pay my bills
Now give me money
That's what I want
That's what I want, yeah
That's what I want

Money don't get everything it's true
What it don't get, I can't use
Now give me money
That's what I want
That's what I want, yeah
That's what I want, wah

Money don't get everything it's true
What it don't get, I can't use
Now give me money
That's what I want
That's what I want, yeah
That's what I want

Well now give me money
A lot of money
Wow, yeah, I wanna be free
Oh I want money
That's what I want
That's what I want, well
Now give me money
A lot of money
Wow, yeah, you need money
Now, give me money
That's what I want, yeah
That's what I want

Facts of The Beatles Money
  • George offered to put up half the money for Pete Shotton's supermarket
  • George apparently had a financial stake in a bar/nightclub called Sybilla's in the mid 60's.
  • Brian on George: "He is curious about money and wants to know how much is coming in and what is best to do to make it work. He would like to invest. He is generous but shrewd. He enjoys spending but would always remain in credit. He likes cars big and fast but would be careful to secure a good trade-in price for his old one" (Epstein).
  • George being asked by a reporter what he does with his money: "We hide it"
  • George '66: We pay tax, but we don't know how much we've made, because if we worried about that, we'd be nervous wrecks by now.
  • George: "I am interested in money. When I hadn't had much of it I was just as interested in what a small amount could be made to do. Naturally anybody spends more or less according to his income, so I suppose I spend plenty by some standards. On the other hand I hate the idea of just getting rid of money because it's in your pocket. I like to keep as small a wallet as possible in case I'm tempted to waste cash on unnecessary things. I haven't got a very good business head, but if my life had been entirely different and I'd only had a little savings in the bank, I reckon I'd have made a success of some small business by taking advice from somebody. I'd have asked what I ought to do with my saved-up money to make it grow."
By the quotes from above and the song lyrics it looks like the Beatles were worrying about the money aswel so maybe it would be hard to prove the money is good.

The concept is good though.

Maybe look at other countries and compare the living costs and average wages and say where is a good place to live to enjoy yourself?
