Skateboard Illustrations

Something that I am really interested in is the illustrations on the bottom of skateboards decks. A few of my mates skate and they all take pride in what illustration they have on their board. Are they good? It is just an opinion at the end of the day, some people will like other illustrations of decks and some might dislike them. This might be hard to justify as good. Maybe I could narrow the subject down to an approach of illustration or an illustrator themselves.

Below are a few examples of Deck illustrations I like:

Design from Santa Cruz- Really like the 80's punk illustrations at the minute. Maybe I could reason why these illustrations are good?
Argentinian illustrator Juluio Cesar is from Alvarez (a small town near the city of Rosario) and likes zombies and skateboards and kicks some serious ass in illustrating both under the name Yaiagift.
Nice magazine for skateboard mag. Nice colours on old looking book works really nice.

By Stick-A-Thing. Bold colours and nice illustrations
Deck by 410 Bc. Really like the 80's skateboard punk illustration.

A few designs Im not to keen on due to different reasons but some people may argue that they like them, and I think that its going to prove that my opinions are good:

Not to keen on this abstract illustration, the colours remind me of London underground transport map.

Another Deck that I'm not to keen on.
Not a big fan of the colours, prefer a stronger colour scheme

Maybe could say why an illustrator is good rather than skateboard illustrations because the illustrations are mainly based on opinions.
